Mission Statement

The Latino community needs to have a strong voice in the issues that most affect our lives today. The Latino Voters League wants to ensure that Latinos are not only “at the table”, but, rather, control and shape the discussions that will shape the future of Latinos locally, state wide and nationally.

The Latino Voters League is a nonpartisan 501(C)4 organization dedicated to organizing and mobilizing Latino voters around progressive issues. LVL was founded in 2006 by leadership from the William C. Velasquez Institute (a nonpartisan, nonprofit, tax-deductible research and policy organization), in order to directly advocate on key ballot initiatives and local, state and federal legislation.

LVL is unabashedly progressive: anti-war, pro-civil and voting rights, pro-immigrant, and so on. In a phrase, LVL believes that its time for Latinos to step up and help lead our country in resolving the great challenges of our time in the interests of full and equitable inclusion of all sectors of our society, particularly historically excluded sectors (like Latinos).
